Overview

A Talk with Frank Mattern, Senior Partner of McKinsey & Company

Mr. Frank Mattern is a Senior Partner of McKinsey & Company based in Frankfurt, Germany, and will speak from his personal experience serving the Federal Government of Germany on managing the refugee influx.

Germany was the largest destination for more than half of the over 2 million refugees that have come to Europe since the beginning of 2015. At times more than 10,000 refugees passed through the Munich train station daily. Changing the political landscape in Europe, this inflow has also created massive challenges for the administration in destination countries, including processing hundreds of thousands of asylum applications, providing adequate housing, healthcare, language training as well as preparing the integration of those who can stay into the labor market and into society at large.

Throughout his career, Frank Mattern focused on the financial services sector. He has advised numerous European and global financial institutions in areas such as corporate strategy, mergers & acquisitions, organization and governance, regulatory compliance as well as business strategy. Frank Mattern has also served public sector institutions in areas such as public employment services, Information Technology and more recently, migration and integration.

Sandwiches and coffee will be served.

The space is limited and RSVP is required through OrgSync or by email to ehb2135@columbia.edu.
